Massage therapy is hugely beneficial on its own, but when used in conjunction with essential oils those benefits escalate significantly. Now add Indian Head Massage to the mix and you have synergistic heaven!
Aromatherapy is the primary massage style chosen for the African Sunset. This technique involves the use of essential oils – the pure essence of a plant. These oils have been found to provide both psychological and physical benefits when used correctly. They are extracted from the plant by a process of steam distillation, which subsequently produces quite volatile and concentrated chemical compounds. Essential oils should therefore never be applied directly to the skin. For massage purposes, a few drops blended with a carrier oil such as Grapeseed, Aloe Vera or Sweet Almond, provides the perfect medium for absorption, while at the same time enabling a comfortable amount of friction.
As the fragrant oils are inhaled you begin to relax. The emotion elicited by the scent combined with the sensation of touch result in a peaceful and euphoric state.  As the oils are absorbed through your skin their therapeutic work begins and the rhythmic sweeping movements of the therapist’s hands allow you to drift into a relaxed state.
The ‘crowning glory’ of this treatment is the head massage, after all, who doesn’t enjoy the shampoo massage at the hairdresser?
I see no hands raised!
And because we love to indulge our guests, we wrap the treatment up by giving a little extra attention to your head, face, neck and shoulders with an Indian Head Massage. This part of the treatment not only stimulates circulation and enhances the senses, it is also offers relief from headaches, insomnia, tinnitus, vertigo and depression. As if that’s not enough, it is also said to improve memory, ease mental and emotional stress and promote clear thinking.
So what are you waiting for?
