Phantom’s eco tip: Five eco-friendly Christmas gift ideas

Eco-Christmas

We all love this time of year. Everyone is winding down and looking forward to the festive season. We’ve put together a few eco-friendly gift ideas for you, so that your Christmas can be both fun and mindful.

Honest chocolate: Their chocolate is handmade in Cape Town using only the finest raw (unroasted), organic Ecuadorian cacao. There are no preservatives, artificial flavouring or emulsifiers so as to keep the chocolate as pure as possible. It is also free of dairy and processed sugar, making it a healthier alternative.

Plant a tree: Greenpop is a social enterprise that runs urban greening and reforestation projects in sub-Saharan Africa. They plant trees in schools, communities, and deforested areas with the aim to spread environmental awareness, uplift under-greened communities, make greening enjoyable and combat climate change.

Organic wine: They are best known for producing organic wines with a unique style, extremely smooth with soft ripe tannins and robust fynbos characteristic. They also produce a range of organic olive products. They’re situated just outside of Wolseley, 150km from Cape Town, but if you live further afield they’ll happily deliver.

Green toys: These toys are made mainly from recycled milk containers. Yes, the same plastic milk bottles that you and your family drinks from every day. When you finish your milk and toss the containers in the recycling bin, a local recycling company collects them and gives them to us to reprocess into super clean fresh plastic.

Eco t-shirts: Home Brewed is a combination of three brands “Earth Warrior”, “Urban Baba Africa” and “Baby Trendsetter” with the core business being retailing of bamboo eco graphic t-shirts and modern babywear & accessories. All their products are knitted and manufactured locally in Cape Town

These are just a few ideas that we came up with, we’d love to hear some of yours!
